If it is a new internal wiring frame, it will generally be equipped with a plastic core to guide you through the first time. But what should we do if the shift cable or brake cable needs to be replaced after a period of use?
The method is actually very simple, just restore the frame to the way it was when we just diy. If you are not sure that there are prefabricated inner cable guide grooves in your frame, then you must remember not to arbitrarily pull out the shift cable or brake cable.
First of all, we need to prepare tape, Allen key, plastic core of the variable speed tube and wire cutters. If you see this issue today, remember to leave these plastic tubes after DIY. If you don’t have them, you can take apart the outer cover of the shifting cable to get the inner plastic tube. You can choose a cheaper shifting cable to do it. . Note that the length is measured in advance.
After that, you can cut the shifting cable. The advantage of this is that the part that is clamped by the screw will not pierce the plastic guide tube. Then insert one end of the shift cable that needs to be replaced into the plastic tube, and pass in as much as possible to prevent the shift cable from falling off when it is pulled out again. Then you can send it in with one hand and pull the shifting cable out with the other hand until the plastic guide tube passes through the other end.
After that, just like a new frame, fix the plastic guide tube. You can fold the plastic tube and stick it with tape, or you can stick it to the frame like in the video, and then you can replace it with a new shifting cable. His hands changed his head, and then just like a new frame, put the transmission cable back into the plastic guide tube until it is exposed from the other end and the plastic hose can be removed. If it is not smooth, you can also drag the plastic guide tube to lead the shift cable out of the frame.
